*You never know who you may be chatting with on Neopets. Someone may present themself as your friend, and you may get to know them for a long time! But beware, there are people that are not who they say they are. On Neopets, it's no big deal if your buying from someones shop, or working with them on a Guild project, or even discussing interesting facts about your Neopet. But when it gets to personal matters, (like your last name, real address, and personal information) don't give it out. Unless you know this person in real life, it's best not to give them any information about yourself that could identify you personally. What about making things up? Neopets is a great place to play around, so just have fun, be safe, and don't be an April Fool.
*Always be sure you don't have your real last name on your user-lookup. When you sign up with Neopets, they ask you for your name. Whatever you put, (weather it's true or not) will show up for anyone who looks up your username!
How to easily remove your real name:
Go to "Help" then to the "change password" advertisement. When it brings you to the page, re-write your name how you would like it to be shown. Be creative... it's always fun to see an interesting name! (Another little tip is to change your password often... so while your changing your name, you can change your password too! ;)
